James Dondero, the co-founder of Highland Capital Management Group, has announced that he will be partnering with Linda Owen in an effort ti expand the reach of Highland Capital Management Groups’ Charitable Group.
Owen will serve as the company’s charitable donation coordinator to ensure that the money donated by Highland Capital Group. Highland’s Capital Management Group. Currently, Highland Capital Management Group donates $3 million each year. Owen’s job will be to ensure that the money donated will spread to the groups in the Dallas area that need their attention.
Owen started her career as a real estate associate at Wald, Harkrader & Ross. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and has been involved in directing charity funds for a number of large organizations.
Highland Capital Management is an SEC registered investment adviser. It was originally created by Dondero and Mark Okada. It is one of the largest wealth management groups and also the most experienced.
Highland’s main specialty is focused on hedge funds, long-only finds and private equity loans.
It was founded in 1929 and is a public charity who’s goal is to improve the life and economy in North Texas. The foundation holds more than 300 individual funds currently and awards extremely competitive grants to various agencies in the health field, education field, social services, and animal welfare field.
Jim Dondero, also known as James Dondero, has more than 30 years of experience in investment and credit equity markets. He mostly focuses on high yield end investing and investments that most people find too stressful to deal with.
Dondero co-founded Highland Captial Management Group L.P and is currently monitoring the company’s investments and charitable donations. Recently, he announced that the company would be partnering with Linda Owen in an effort to expand the reach of the $3 million they donate annually. The goal is to make the most impact they can in the North Texas area and help revitalize the economy in this area.
Personally, Dondero donates a great deal of money himself annually, so it will be interesting to see if he seeks Owen’s advice on his personal investments.
